Lines in the sand

Lines in the Sand was a DfID-funded arts and literacy project which HEC ran in partnership with Amnesty. It provided an opportunity for students to gain a greater understanding of global issues and some knowledge of the UN Millennium Development Goals. Schools researched the situations in Bangladesh, Somalia, Tower Hamlets and the Western Sahara, and from the point of view of the UN. Their research was mostly based on interviews with local and international witnesses, including the Secretary of State for International Development.
